John Hayato Branderhorst has over 20 years of experience helping clients expand into Japan, particularly by tailoring value propositions to meet diverse regional requirements. Since returning from five years teaching in Japan in 2006, he has advised Japanese government agencies on Foreign Direct Investment initiatives, linking over 100 companies with partners and customers in Japan. His consulting efforts include strategic work with NTT on business development and assisting Sony spinout MotionPortrait with their U.S. market entry strategies. Since moving to Colorado, John has been on the board of the Japan America Society of Colorado. Currently, John is focused on various business development, strategy, and marketing projects, including:
- btrax – Specializing in user-centered research and strategy for entering the Japanese market, btrax also provides marketing and design solutions to foster market growth in Japan.
- GlobalSaké – Part of a collective cross-border, cross-culture community of leaders driving international expansion across Product, Growth, Marketing, and New Markets’ Entry Strategy.
In his free time, John is committed to increasing awareness of Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (KEEN), a global non-profit that provides free one-on-one fitness opportunities for youth with disabilities.
John also co-founded a Ramen noodle business in San Francisco in 2008, merging his entrepreneurial spirit with his passion for Japanese cuisine.
