About me
If you are developing a product that includes mechanical, electronic, software or firmware elements or are marketing a new technology, it might be useful to chat.
After getting my phd in engineering, I worked in the roles of design engineer, technical lead, account manager, reviewer, project manager, CTO, VP of Engineering and President. As CTO at Syncroness I re-organized the operations/engineering department to create new roles for existing employees to bring clarity to the engineers, project managers, account managers and especially the customers about what would be done by whom on our projects. I provided leadership and direction to managers who in turn provided leadership for sixty engineers and eight project managers. I held two year’s worth of weekly training seminars to develop senior technical staff in sales, leadership, communication, technical, and process development skills. As VP of engineering at Sphero I traveled extensively to Asia to ensure design transfer and manufacturing success and supervised the engineering team responsible for the firmware, electronics, and mechanical design of the Sphero and Ollie robots which were repurposed into the phone controlled BB8 droid.
Because I worked in contract product development services I have experience in medical, aerospace, industrial, instrumentation, and consumer product spaces. Beyond product development, I have worked on company formation, go-to-market strategy, financial management, fund raising, filing patents, developing thought leadership, technical sales and marketing, culture curation, re-organization, and customer discovery.
