Kal is the Founder and CEO of SingSavvy, a start-up that is transforming the way we use "the voice" for wellness and personal growth.
An Investment professional with over 35 years of experience in the asset management industry. Kal is viewed as a pioneer and expert in the smart beta industry. He built a specialist equity smart beta firm and successfully sold it to Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He has also worked at MSCI in New York as Managing Director, Chairman of the MSCI Index Policy Committee, and member of the MSCI Global Executive Committee, at HSBC Asset Management in London as Global Head of Research and Strategy and Advisor to the CEO, at Credit Lyonnais Asset Management in Paris as Senior Quantitative Analyst, and at Union National Bank in Abu Dhabi as Portfolio Manager. Kal’s educational qualifications include a Master’s in Business Administration degree specializing in Finance and Investments from L’Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees in Paris, the CFA Charter from the CFA Institute in Charlottesville, and a Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Karachi. Kal has authored numerous research articles that have been published in peer-reviewed professional journals, and is the author of various books ranging from index management to smart beta factor investing to career management.
Kal is also an accomplished singer-songwriter appreciated for his thoughtful and creative lyrics and songs that seamlessly blend a variety of musical styles in both his singing and instrumentation.
Kal is a dedicated philanthropist, supporting causes close to his heart, especially in his native country, Pakistan. Kal’s multifaceted career and heartfelt contributions make him a remarkable figure in the fields of music, business, and philanthropy.
